It’s another swing state endorsement today. It is also another clear choice between the candidates!
The thing I look forward to the most on the extremely rare occasions I attend a church service is the sermon. I simply love a good speaker. The Senate was once considered the world’s greatest debating society. It has morphed from its original design of being a place where legislation slowed down (not died Mitch!) and the great minds of the nation debated it. Georgia’s Raphael Warnock may well be the best orator in today’s Senate. But wait, there is so much more to recommend him.
Warnock entered the Senate in January of 2021 as part of a twin runoff upset the Democrats pulled off in Georgia. In his time in the Senate Warnock has proved to be both a reliable progressive vote and a forceful speaker. Warnock has served as the Senior pastor of the historic Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta since 2005. This job was a homecoming of sorts for a Morehouse College alum who was born in Savannah, Georgia.
Warnock has long worked for greater access to health care for all Americans. He is one of the great champions and defenders of voting rights and access.
Perhaps a bit risky for a minister, he is in favor of a woman’s right to choose and same sex civil marriage. Can you see the equality theme?
The NRA has given him a grade of “F”. That alone is a reason to consider voting for him. He is solidly against guns in churches. Can you say “common sense”?
This is brief in part because it is such a clear choice between him and his opponent. Unless, of course you prefer word salad practitioners to intellects. Tellthetruthonthem.com proudly and enthusiastically endorses Raphael Warnock for reelection to the United States Senate from Georgia!
