Some Of What Could Be

In one of his books the late Lee Iacocca stated that the American voters should demand that presidential candidates disclose who would be in their Cabinet if elected. Iacocca may have had some talent at selling Mustangs – more likely he was in the right place at the right time – but he was totally naïve (I’m being kind in my choice of words) when it came to being a major party presidential candidate. Major party candidates cannot disclose who would serve in their Cabinet and on their senior staff for a multitude of reasons; but op-ed writers can put out wish lists based on real world considerations. Around A Tavern Table

Education comes from many experiences in life, certainly not just the classroom. One of the experiences that taught me the most about life was coaching basketball. And that education certainly didn’t all come wearing a suit and tie while sitting on the bench. I want to relate one night’s experience decades ago and apply its lesson to the Trump administration. Let’s explore. Continue reading Around A Tavern Table

A Few Bucks Here; A Few Bucks There

My guess is that we will never know the full extent of Trump’s thefts from the American people. If you are not viewing this administration as an organized criminal enterprise you are being deceived. Today I will provide but a few examples most revealed very recently. Let’s explore. Continue reading A Few Bucks Here; A Few Bucks There

Moralists, Liars And Toadies

Recently the importance of a functioning federal government has come into the consciousness of most Americans for the first time in their lives; for those of us with a few more laps around the track, for the first time since the Cuban Missile Crisis. The government, like any other organization, is composed of people. A lot of them showed their true stripes in recent days; unfortunately the majority of the revelations weren’t all that pleasing. Let’s explore. Continue reading Moralists, Liars And Toadies

Coronagate

Without a doubt the biggest political story in America last week was the conoravirus. It is a developing scandal which I am choosing to call Coronagate. Ever since Watergate we have called major American political scandals something gate. The Trump administration has been one continuous series of scandals the two biggest being Russiagate and Ukrainegate. Russiagate included the Mueller investigation and Ukrainegate included the impeachment of Donald Trump. Coronagate has the potential to be much larger and we can already see Trump preparing to shift the blame much more than solve the problem. Let’s explore. Continue reading Coronagate
