A Bridge Too Far

I’m getting a little literary here but I decided to title this article, A Bridge Too Far, because in many ways that’s exactly what happened and will happen. We know that the Kerch Strait Bridge was significantly damaged by an apparent drone strike. Much past that calls for speculation. Please cross those bridges with me in the next few paragraphs.

Timeline: The morning of Tuesday July 11, 2023
Today the baseball All Star Game is being played in Seattle. A lot of baseball brass will all be in the same place at the same time. While they may not happen for a bit and certainly won’t be announced, a lot of deals will take place. Much the same can be said for NATO’s leaders gathering in Vilnius, Lithuania. In this case, the biggest deals have been announced, Joe Biden was at the center of most of them and we’ll visit a few of them below.

Thoughts, Fears and Hopes
I’m going to ramble a bit today. Independence Day has always been my favorite holiday. I think that may go back to growing up in Western New York where it was the holiday where I had the best chance of having baseball weather. Considerably later in life my wife and I actually had our first date on a July 4th. Today I’ll stick to politics with a bit of baseball thrown in at the conclusion.
