It’s neither fair nor accurate to judge a president’s performance strictly by the economy but most voters do it. The question as we approach the State of the Union address is: How is Joe Biden doing? I’ll site some statistics, complete with editorial comment, and in the conclusion let you know how I feel about it.

Joe Biden is unpopular even with many who voted for him in 2020. Much of this is understandable when you consider that the average American really doesn’t have much of a background in civics and certainly lacks the time and too often the interest to follow politics closely. Most voters can tell you the name of the starting quarterback of their favorite NFL team and his backup but not the names of their state representative, state senator, state Attorney General or state Secretary of State.
