Today is Easter Sunday for non-orthodox Christians (they go next week). It is the celebration of the resurrection of Christ. Christianity is by far the most practiced religion in America although it is neither the state religion (the First Amendment to the Constitution prohibits one), nor do Christians constitute a majority of Americans. Recently the importance of a functioning federal government has come into the consciousness of most Americans for the first time in their lives; for those of us with a few more laps around the track, for the first time since the Cuban Missile Crisis.
