There is an old Polish proverb that basically says that what you say when you are drunk; you speak the truth. (I’m not going to try to quote it. I neither read nor write Polish and have a toddler’s speaking vocabulary in it. Typical American – English only.) While I’m confident Joe Biden was sober when he spoke in Warsaw on Saturday, he did speak the truth; a truth that few want to publically admit.
Late Tuesday afternoon I got the word that Major League Baseball had cancelled the first two weeks of the regular season. That sort of set the tone for this political article with a bit of a philosophy of a famous novelist thrown in at the end. (He is my closer today.)
Wednesday night I watched President Biden’s State of the Union Address that technically wasn’t a State of the Union Address. It was a “substantial sandwich”.
