Stanley, Tony, Willie And Mike; It’s Time To Get Pissed Off!
This one has been building up inside of me for some time now and today is the day I decided to finally write about it. Those who follow my reading and writing know that I have spent much of the last two years trying to figure out why Rust Belt and Appalachian blue collar workers voted for Trump in 2016. I grew up and was educated in the Rust Belt were I lived (working non-industrial jobs) well into my forties. The names in today’s title represent the friends I had in the four major ethnic groups of my native Western New York. While my reading about Appalachia never answered all my questions; I feel the motivation wasn’t that different than it was in the Rust Belt. The False Case Of Us v Them
More than two years have passed since America elected Donald Trump as President. The fact that we have survived an incompetent maniac for nearly two years is proof of America’s greatness. All that time passed and I’m still trying to understand how the people of Appalachia and the Rust Belt (which I come from) helped make this happen. My President Is A Victim (Or At Least He Plays One On TV)
I have spent much time since the 2016 election trying to figure out why so many people from Appalachia and the Rust Belt voted for Donald Trump. Having been born, raised and educated in the Rust Belt I should be able to figure that one out and to a great degree have. I’ve done a ton of reading trying to unlock the Appalachia mystery.
