I almost feel sorry for Mitch McConnell. Only almost.
Understandably Mitch McConnell wants to be Senate Majority Leader again. Going into the 2022 election and needing to only net one seat you can see why he felt that could happen. (Here is the scary part: it still may.) Had the GOP recruited and gotten their number one draft choices through the primaries it would be all but a lock. That is not what it looks like less than a month from Election Day.
The endorsement of Maggie Hassan would be perfectly justified simply based on the fact that her Republican opponent is a danger to American democracy. That alone would be enough, but there is so much more.
I guess I should commence with an apology. Despite the title – which has become a crutch for me – these articles are primarily catch up articles. Many of the topics dealt with below deserve a full article if not more and others will simply fall on the cutting room floor. Without further ado, let’s begin.
