I’m not the biggest fan of Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, in contemporary America it has morphed into a day of football and feasts featuring turkey. No longer is it a celebration and opportunity to give thanks for a bountiful harvest. I’ll try and adjust that attitude a bit in the paragraphs below.
On the surface the big story of the week just ended is Nancy Pelosi’s decision to step back from House leadership. To stop there is folly. There is so much more happening in the lower chamber of Congress.
The biggest American political event of the week just ended was the 2022 elections. I could have scheduled that one a year ahead of time. That said, this is another timestamp article and I am commencing to write this on Thursday morning. There are many takeaways and I’d like to relay a few of mine to you today.
I’m back. I have at least one story from my time away but that will wait for another day. Today I want to talk about a trend in contemporary American politics which was exacerbated during the time I was away. In a word it is truth or more specifically the lack thereof.
I have a lot of observations and insights to share today so here we go.
