The biggest American political event of the week just ended was the 2022 elections. I could have scheduled that one a year ahead of time. That said, this is another timestamp article and I am commencing to write this on Thursday morning. There are many takeaways and I’d like to relay a few of mine to you today.
Next weekend is Labor Day weekend and the unofficial opening of the 2022 “regular season” for politics. A lot has changed on the political landscape since the last time I took a look at the prospects for the 2022 Senate races and I thought it merited another look.
The world isn’t perfect. We can’t have a pure progressive in every Senate seat; they are simply unelectable in some states in 2022. Today I will again endorse a moderate Democrat that holds many extremely important progressive values. 100 is perfect; 97 (and the use of that number will become clear below) is very, very good.
Today I wanted to take one final look at the state of the 2022 Senate races while the calendar still says 2021. I know its still a bit early but part of the fun of politics is guessing and projecting. At heart I’m just another political junkie.
