As planned, Thursday morning I voted early. About a week prior to that I printed out a sample ballot and did my research. I didn’t expect to feel comfortable voting for many, if any, Republicans but I still wanted to give everyone on the ballot a look. I was surprised at just how bad many of the GOP candidates were. It’s not a local problem.

Driving On Ice

I learned to drive in my native Western New York which certainly entailed driving on ice. There is no foolproof way to drive on ice. It is much different from and much more difficult than driving in snow. That said there is a technique that will enhance your chances of avoiding a serious mishap. Basically, you pump, not slam, the brakes and certainly never accelerate when you start a skid. To a degree something similar can be said about economic policy. Unfortunately, the powers to be in both America and the UK didn’t seem to learn that lesson.

Least We Forget

The war in Ukraine has been going on for over six months now. With all else that is going on in the world it is easy to forget. That’s exactly what Vladimir Putin wants you to do and is his best chance to win.
I’m as guilty as anyone else in letting the war “slip below the fold”. Today I’m bringing it front and center. This article is being penned on Tuesday morning.
