Tuesday night Arizona released its primary results and they should produce one of the most interesting and pivotal Senate races of 2018. Republican Jeff Flake’s retirement created an open seat in a state that while still red is certainly trending blue. Both parties selected their most electable candidate and both are women in what is looking like a year of the woman. Both are currently serving in the House. This should be a horse race where the Republicans are defending a seat that is one of three best pick-up opportunities for the Democrats who need to flip a net of two in order to take control of the upper chamber of Congress. In researching Democrat Kyrsten Sinema I found, as expected, a somewhat left-leaning moderate. To my surprise I discovered a much more interesting than anticipated candidate from the personal profile standpoint. In fact she may be the prototype Democratic candidate if they want to win in places they haven’t had historical success and appeal to the increasing pool of voters who reject party labels. Let’s explore. Continue reading The Endorsement Of Kyrsten Sinema

The Endorsement Of Beto O’Rourke
The Senate races garnering the most attention (including mine) going into Election Day are the closely contested ones. The Democrats have to net two in order to take back the chamber which considering the numbers and states will be difficult. An upset win would go a long way to help the cause; and one in Texas would be particularly sweet. Continue reading The Endorsement Of Beto O’Rourke
The Endorsement Of Bob Casey
Time and space constraints prevent me from making endorsements in every race I find a worthy candidate in. This is a race I hadn’t intended to touch earlier this year. I felt the Democrat would win; not in a landslide but still win. Then Pennsylvania held their primaries and a dangerous Trump endorsed white supremacist extremist won the GOP nod. I could no longer remain silent and expect others to get the job done. Today tellthetruthonthem.com endorses a more progressive than you might think Senator Ben Casey, Jr. for reelection in the Keystone State. Continue reading The Endorsement Of Bob Casey
Bad Omens!
The moment Anthony Kennedy retired I knew I would not be happy with his replacement. Donald Trump is currently playing the part of a right winger on TV and I knew he would nominate someone way right of the American mainstream. With all the prime time coverage he coveted on Monday night he recognized a very few guest to get some easy applause. Second among them was Edwin Meese. That’s when I knew America was really in trouble! Let’s explore. Continue reading Bad Omens!
Defiant Patriotism?
Is it wishful thinking on my part or am I seeing the beginning of defiant patriotism when it comes to the relationship of the military and congressional Republicans with President Trump? That is the underlying story of last week and I’d like to explore it with you today. Continue reading Defiant Patriotism?
