Tomorrow is February 1st and with it comes Black History Month. Despite the best efforts of Republican Governor and 2024 presidential wannabe Ron “Kinky Boots” DeSantis that is still a fact. You can probably already see where I’m going.

The Democrats’ Hot Stove League
This article was written well ahead of scheduled publishing in order to accommodate my travel plans.
Maybe I’m just too caught up in baseball’s off season moves, but I can’t help but think of “the bench”. Today I’d like to briefly look at the Democrat’s “national bench”. I’m among the people who thinks the Democrats need a youth movement, therefore I’m just looking at people who will be at least 35 (the Constitutional minimum age for president) but less than 60 on Election Day 2024.

Filibuster Reform
A lot changes at noon today. The most recognized is that Joe Biden becomes President. Also Kamala Harris becomes Vice President which means she becomes President of the Senate. With the seating of both Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock of Georgia it gives the Democrats control of the upper chamber and makes Chuck Schumer the Majority Leader. Particularly after Wednesday’s events the big political question in America is what to do with President Trump. To all but the willfully ignorant he poses a clear and present danger to America and leaving him in office for even a few more days is risky.
