Surprise. A Potpourri Thursday

It is Tuesday afternoon as I begin to write this. I am willing to bet a lot of you expected to see a piece dealing with Robert Mueller’s testimony on Capitol Hill. So many strange things happen in Washington these days that even at this late hour I wasn’t completely convinced that Mueller would testify or that his testimony would warrant a column. (We all know the answers to those questions by this reading.) Trump Is A Wartime President. He Is Just Failing Miserably!

Most President’s want to be consider among the best ever. After seeing his ego on display does anyone really doubt that Trump is among them? The best path to fame is by being a wartime President. It is also one of the best paths to a second term. The “don’t change horses in the middle of the stream” argument is pretty persuasive. Trump’s Next Career?

Someday Donald Trump’s presidency will come to an end one way or another. While I am among those who hope it happens in 2019 and thinks the most likely outcome is resignation I could be wrong.
