Democracy Prevailed, Barely

Tuesday morning the Supreme Court’s decision in Moore v Harper came down. It was a 6-3 decision written by Chief Justice John Roberts – which in part indicates its importance – in which when faced with a clear threat to American democracy this Court chose not to act. A more charitable analysis might be it split the baby. Split babies die.

Just Down The Road

I live in the Triangle Region of North Carolina, just down the road from the State Capital and all the government buildings in Raleigh. I’m deeming the North Carolina Supreme Court’s ruling, released on Friday as the biggest political story of the week just ended. While shockingly significant its not so much just this lone ruling but what it illustrates.
