Timestamp: Saturday morning September 17, 2022. The timestamp is necessary because this is a dynamic situation. Measured in “ink” expended and threats to both national security and democracy it is also the biggest story of (by the time this is published) the week just ended.
Taking partisanship out of the equation, without a doubt the influence of money is the biggest problem in American politics. Simply put, it is un-democratic and it just got a lot worse!

For a variety of reasons the fourth quarter always seemed to be a heavily constrained time of the year for me. This has continued into my “retirement”.
