Taking Stock (Away From Their Control)

Today I’m going to be non-partisan and that is not a natural position for me. If you asked me what the biggest problem is in American politics I would say it is the undo influence money has – that is totally non-partisan. If you asked many, particularly on the right, they would say the lack of confidence many Americans have in their elected officials. Today I want to propose a relatively simple (nothing is simple in American politics at the highest levels) partial solution to both issues.

2020 Democrats – The Celebrities

Some time back a dear friend of mine introduced me to a group of people as an op-ed writer. I assume to be polite; one of them asked me what I wrote about. I replied that I wrote political op-eds therefore my job was to piss off between one-third and half the people every day. I was simultaneously practicing self-effacing humor and facing reality. “Bring it”

Currently isolating a single story as the biggest story of any week in American politics is difficult. Last week was no exception. All that said my choice is the Brett Kavanaugh confirmation hearings. My predictions haven’t changed; I still expect him to come out of committee on a Party line vote and his conformation in the Senate, while not a sure thing, is still likely; (more on that another day.)
