Anyone who covers the American political scene is faced with a decision regarding whether to and if so, how to cover Donald Trump. Cable news has it particularly difficult; they have to fill 24 hours-a-day, seven days a week. By contrast I only have to write five columns in that same time period. Yet, essentially the decisions are the same.

Today is Aprils Fools’ Day (I’ll be “celebrating” a lot of fools in today’s article) and to me, being of Polish ethnicity, it is Dyngus Day which I won’t try and explain other than it was a “reason” to do a lot of drinking in my younger days after which I probably acted like a fool.

Of Cathy And Elise

Last week New York Republican Representative Elise Stefanik continued her stupid act. (I have every reason to believe that she is actually intelligent so I have resorted to using the word “act”.) Elise paraphrased Ronald Reagan asking voters if they were better off today than four years ago. I’ll take the liberty of a few days in my illustrations and then answer her question.
