At the present time the two biggest threats to America and democracy are Russia and the Republican Party. Both are currently controlled by people who are stupid and scared. Therefore, like cornered rabid animals they are dangerous!

When I awoke on Tuesday morning (I’m penning this a bit later in that am) one of the first things I did was check my phone and was greeted by an email saying that several major websites including the New York Times and CNN had been hacked. This is part of a major issue confronting America recently and I want to pontificate on it for a bit today.
As of this writing the final presidential debate of the 2020 cycle is scheduled to take place tonight. Whether it will happen or not is still basically a coin toss. Most often the Sunday article covers the biggest political story of the week just ended. Well, they are simply coming to fast and furiously to determine one as the biggest. Separating them is also another challenge. Also the volume is overwhelming to the point that too many stories get little or no coverage despite their impact. Today I will use a slightly different format of “quick hits” more like one of the many “catch up” articles.
