The Wisdom Of A Sportscaster

I spent ten of the most enjoyable years of my life in the Tampa Bay area. At that time I drove a lot and the car radio was one of my companions (along with audio books). I’m not the biggest fan of sports radio but the late Chris Thomas had a show on WDAE that I seldom missed. One of his favorite sayings was, “One or the other, but not both.” Sometimes he used a more elaborate derivation of it, “One or the other, but certainly not both.” It really didn’t matter because the basic message is the same. The New Abnormal?

Perhaps it’s my age, but I really don’t think so. More likely it is the malarkey the Trump administration is trying to get me to believe. There is talk of a new normal. I accept that to a degree; we are going through a second industrial revolution and many things are changing. Facts are still facts and the truth is still the truth. One Or The Other

When I lived in the Tampa Bay area on of my great pleasures was listening to the late Chris Thomas’ sports radio show on WDAE. Thomas often used an expression which I have stolen, “One or the other but not both.” That exactly sums up the situation much of the public and the Republicans find themselves in with Obamacare.
