Thus far I’ve spent a good deal of October watching my Tampa Bay Rays in the baseball playoffs. (This article is being written prior to the start of the seventh and deciding game of the ALCS.) The thing that has impressed me the most so far is the defensive skills the catchers have displayed. You Can’t Make This Stuff Up!

Early Thursday evening I was sitting in a fast food restaurant trying to eat with my oldest grandson. I had just thrown my sandwich in the garbage receptacle, which gives you an idea of what I thought of it. I sipped my soda as he finished his meal when my iPhone vibrated with a news alert from the Washington Post informing me that Donald Trump had just announced he would nominate Linda McMahon to head the Small Business Administration. All of a sudden the sandwich was pretty good in comparison. Here is the really bad news: it wasn’t Trump’s only bad move of the day let alone of the transition.
