SPECIAL NOTICE – RECOMMENDED READING LIST ADDITION

I just added The Storm Is Here: An American Crucible by Luke Mogelson to the Recommended Reading List.  It is the best effort to date combining the extremist influences on American politics and the possibility of a second civil war.  It outlines the rise of authoritarianism in America and the danger it poses.

Three “companion” books already on the list are: Fascism by: Madeline Albright, Strongmen by Ruth Ben-Ghiat and How Civil Wars Start by Barbara F. Walter.

SPECIAL NOTICE – RECOMMENDED READING ADDITION

I just added How Civil Wars Start: And How To Stop Them by Barbara F. Walter to the Recommended Reading List.

University of California at San Diego Professor Walter takes a scientific look at the factors that are common in civil wars.  Like most Americans I tend to think (or is it hopefully wishing?) that it can’t happen here.  The terrifying truth is that it can.
