I’m the somewhat rare Baby Boomer who will tell younger people they have it much harder than I did. That is simply the truth. I also have great hope for what my grandchildren’s (mainly today’s young adults) generation is capable of. Keep those two sentiments in mind as you continue to read this piece.

The title of today’s article is a riddle of sort that will be completely explained by the end. If you can guess it at this point you should be a detective or an intelligence officer. If you have it by the end of the first paragraph you must be both a baby boomer and pretty damn smart. I usually make the Sunday article about the biggest political story of the week just ended. For people of my generation another story eclipsed all others last week; the death of Aretha Franklin. 75 Years Later And Still The Greatest!
I’m not sure how much of a big deal the for-profit media is going to make of today but here it is THE story. Today is the 75th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor which was the tipping point event that caused the United States to enter World War II. It is important to remember the event, but in the final analysis it is just another of many significant dates in history. Today what I really want to honor is America’s Greatest Generation!
