There are people who I feel should vote Republican because in its current version the GOP represents their views. Here are several of the leading reasons to vote Republican in 2018.

If you believe that a candidate under felony indictment should run for Congress but that the conviction of a felony must automatically include a lifetime ban on voting you should vote Republican.

If you believe that it is perfectly fine to fire a person solely because of their sexual orientation you should vote Republican.

If you believe that an employer should determine when and if their female employees should have children you should vote Republican.

If you believe that health insurers should be able to deny coverage or charge significantly more to those with pre-existing conditions you should vote Republican. Remember most insurers, left to their own devices, consider being female a pre-existing condition.

If you believe that stealing children from their parents is good American policy you should vote Republican.

If you believe that having 5% of the world’s population but 25% of its incarcerated population is fine you should vote Republican.

If you believe our acceptance of refugees should be based on their skin color you should vote Republican.

If you believe we can arrest our way out of the opioid crisis you should vote Republican.

If you believe that foreign interference in our democracy is no big deal you should vote Republican.

If you believe that lower tax rates on the wealthy and corporations will automatically boost the economy and increase the availability of good paying jobs you should vote Republican.

If you believe that America should stand alone in an increasingly global economy you should vote Republican.

If you think it is fine to raid public education funds to transfer them to private, for profit corporations you should vote Republican.

If you are willing to pollute the environment in exchange for short term corporate profits you should vote Republican.

If you believe that ignoring reality will improve the eventual outcome of events you should vote Republican.

If you are concerned about the rights of those accused of a crime only as long as they are white, heterosexual males from a privileged background you should vote Republican.

If you value a fetus over a living human being you should vote Republican.

If you want to make access to health care difficult if not impossible for those of lesser economic means you should vote Republican.

If you believe that all white, Christian, heterosexual land owning males are equal and of course superior to all others you should vote Republican. If you believe only they should be allowed to vote you should vote Republican.

If you believe that the federal government borrowing money in order to finance a tax break for those who already have plenty is not only a good idea but an economic stimulus you should vote Republican.

If you believe that right wing mythology is real and climate change is false you should vote Republican.

If you believe the solution to America’s gun problem is getting more and more lethal guns into more hands you should vote Republican.

If you believe that workers should be grateful to have a job and not have a right to collective bargaining you should vote Republican.

There are reasons to vote Republican; I simply do not agree with any of them. Therefore I voted (early), just not Republican.
