Unlike most bloggers I don’t write and publish immediately. This is especially true when I deal with shootings and terrorist events. I have learned that the initial reports and reality often have much more of a gap than I am comfortable with. I’m not criticizing the media. They try and do the best they can. It’s just as things quickly unfold some accounts are later found to be less than totally accurate. I moved another article to a future publishing date in order to accommodate today’s comments. The current configuration of the Republican Party has nothing to offer the average American. Yet, like all other candidates, incumbent or challenger, they have to run for reelection or election every few years and in 2016 a boatload of offices are on the ballot. Tuesday was an interesting day in American politics, a surprise news conference by FBI Director James Comey and presidential campaign appearances by both presumptive nominees in North Carolina. Cleveland Or Rio?
It’s July 4th as I write this article. I have reached the age where this day is one where I anticipate what is to come the rest of the summer. Politically I am wondering which will be the bigger circus; the Republican National Convention or the Rio Olympics.
