The Endorsement Of Josh Shapiro

Who goes there? That is the challenge question in many wars. The reason for it is to ascertain whether the “intruder” is friend or foe. Democracy should be asking the same question in the Pennsylvania Governor’s race this year. Democratic gubernatorial candidate Josh Shapiro is a defender, let alone friend, of democracy and his Republican opponent is certainly not! That alone is reason enough for all voters in the Keystone state to cast a vote for him this fall, but there is more.

SPECIAL NOTICE – RECOMMENDED READING ADDITION

I just added The Woman They Could Not Silence by Kate Moore to the Recommended Reading List.   Moore’s book is the true story of Elizabeth  Packard.  Set primarily in 1860s America, it reads like a version of The Handmaid’s Tale, except is is true.  It chronicles the lack of independence women of the era experienced and the asylum system.

Everyone should read this book but especially younger women and those who don’t believe the MAGA crowd is evil.  This is the era many on the right thought was the last time America was great.

The Endorsement Of Cheri Beasley

I have lived in North Carolina for more than a decade. Both the choice and the stakes are clear when it comes to the U.S. Senate race in the Tar Heel state this fall. I’d rank a state or two ahead of it in probability of flipping a Senate seat but it will certainly be one of the biggest battlegrounds. It may be a slight exaggeration but I see the choice akin to one between good and evil one.
