I’m Offended

I’m not one who minds his own business very well. I’m a cisgender male yet the attacks on women bother me deeply. I’m heterosexual but ditto for attacks on the LGBTQ+ community. I’m white but have a huge problem with racial discrimination and exploitation. I was born in Buffalo, New York and by virtue of the 14th Amendment am an American citizen yet I abhor the attacks on those who are here without benefits of birth or naturalized citizenship. (To be frank, much of the current GOP base doesn’t consider naturalized citizens to be citizens – unless they are related to Donald Trump by marriage that is.) I could go on but you get the idea and it sets the stage for today’s posting.

Outraged? Remember In November

Notice: In order to cover today’s topic as I deem fit some of the language used and the subject matter of some portions may be a bit “too adult” to stay within what some would consider PG.

The news first got significant national attention last week Tuesday although the precipitating event actually occurred the preceding Friday. The event I speak of is the Alabama Supreme Court ruling that a frozen embryo is a child. That’s not a misprint, you read it correctly. I’m not saying it makes sense; in fact, my opinion is 180 degrees the opposite.

The Endorsement of Jon Tester

But he is not a progressive? He is far from a shoe-in in November? I anticipate both of those critiques from my readers as I write this. Here are the bottom lines: Jon is a good man (don’t discount that factor!), a reliable Democratic vote in the Senate and in the current political situation the Democrats are lucky to have a Senator from deep red Montana. In other words, although it is far from assured, Tester can defend that seat in ’24 and I don’t see another Democrat that can.
