SPECIAL NOTICE: RECOMMENDED READING ADDITION

I just added Harvest the Vote: How Democrats Can Win Again In Rural America by: Jane Kleeb to the Recommended Reading List.  I’m late to the dance with this one which was published in January of 2020.

This is a must read for political operatives and those who allocate campaign/political resources!

Go beyond the sub-title and the real value of Kleeb’s work shines through.  Listening is the number one skill of a field operator or candidate can have.  Instead of getting into an (unproductive) confrontation find the common ground.

From a national level Kleeb espouses one of the principle I have advocated for years:  the national party needs to invest in state and local parties.

My only regret in reading this book is that it spent so long on my “book wish list”.

22 years ago today I was talking to my biggest customer in Tarpon Springs, Florida when I heard the news of the attack on the Twin Towers. Today I’m retired and living in North Carolina’s Triangle Region. In 2001 the January 6th domestic coup attempt replaced 9/11 as the worst attack on America. But today I want to spend a few minutes on what potentially could be a more threatening attack on American democracy – today’s Republican party.
