Lurking Dangers

Two articles came to my attention in the past few days. Neither one by themself warranted an entire article. While on the surface they appear quite different; they are actually similar in that they are dangerous. One will look like the outline of a Michael Crichton novel, the other the outline of a political thriller. Both are very, very real and the scary part is that they are flying mostly under the radar.

An Old Baseball Adage Comes To Mind

There is an old adage in baseball that says, sometimes the best trade is the one you don’t make. With the annual trading deadline rapidly approaching and considering the political news of last week along with just a tad of poetic license that I used, I selected my biggest story of the week just ended. Donald Trump is a crook. Rudy Giuliani is a liar. Neither of those is exactly a surprise. The UPS strike being averted has the potential to have a huge impact on America’s future.

America Can’t Afford A Republican House

The Republican majority 118th House has been in session for over 18 months now and has largely been a joke. Too bad all the late night talk shows are currently shuttered. The monologue jokes would all but write themselves. I hope it won’t but I fear it will get worse in the run up to the 2024 elections.

A Few Observations From Across The Atlantic

As an op-ed writer I’m entitled to express opinions but they should mostly be based on at least better than average knowledge of the subject matter at hand. I’d like to think I adhere to that “rule”; today will be a bit of an exception. That does not diminish the importance of some of my observations nor excuse you from giving them thought.
