Today’s article will be a brief one. After illustrating some irony I will state the obvious.
Often a dilemma I face when writing the Sunday article is to decide which story I will select as the biggest of the week just ended. No such problem this week! However, (and it always seems there is a forever), today’s dilemma is that the situation is so dynamic that anything I wrote about the “status” would be outdated by the time you read it. With that in mind I’m taking a different slant on the Ukraine story which in my opinion is even more important.
My biggest frustration in writing this column is that I lack the resources to cover everything I would like to. Today’s is another of those catch up type pieces and I have an opinion about each item.
As I pen this the almost constant chatter is about Ukraine. I’m certain I will have much more to say about that in the not-too-distant future but for today I’d like to look ahead. Many will say I’m being pessimistic and I hope I am. Foreign policy is not that different from basketball (or most sports for that matter); you have to prepare for the worst while hoping for the best.
For some reason today I’m thinking about the 2024 presidential race a lot so I figured I might as well write about it. It’s early but I promise you will find parts amusing if not interesting.
