This article is scheduled to publish in the last day of January 2022. Like almost all of my pieces it was written well ahead of that. On January 15, 2022 Glenn Youngkin was sworn in as the Governor of Virginia. I was in Virginia on the weekend before Election Day 2021. Youngkin had a lot of people fooled.
Again, a lot happened last week but to me the big story is a no-brainer. Associate Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer announced his retirement.
On the surface today I will write about a book, agree with someone I almost never agree with and apologize to another person I have negligible respect for. It won’t be as boring as it sounds.
Democracy is under attack, primarily in America and Europe. Simultaneously the situation in Ukraine grows more dire by the hour. The two are intertwined. I can hear many American voices saying, “Why should I care?” or, “Why should we get involved?”. The answer is because rather you realize it or not Ukraine matters
