Today is the last scheduled publishing day of 2021 and therefore time to look ahead to 2022. Yesterday we saw that prognosticating skills are not perfect here but I’ll give you my predicted top five for the year to come anyway. I’ll also end this column with a chilling observation.
It’s that time of the year again. Time to review the year just about past. I’m open to and deserving of criticism and I’ll give myself a big fat “F” on what I predicted would be the fifth biggest political story of the year. In addition to that, even in the darkest recesses of my mind I could not have envisioned the unquestionably biggest political story of 2021.
Regrets. That’s something I don’t have a lot of in life; I guess I’m lucky – I refuse to think I’m that good. I have fewer still when it comes to this column. Today I want to address one of them.
Today I wanted to take one final look at the state of the 2022 Senate races while the calendar still says 2021. I know its still a bit early but part of the fun of politics is guessing and projecting. At heart I’m just another political junkie.
This is an article I certainly don’t want to write but if you are going to be successful in sports or politics you have to be a realist. Primarily because of gerrymandering; but with significant assists from lies, voter suppression, voter intimidation and very possibly voter nullification I feel there is significant chance that the Democrats will not be able to retain the House in the 2022 elections.
