Keep A Buckeye Peeled

It is not too soon to look ahead to 2018. If it weren’t for Russiagate our domestic politics would already be dominated by 2018 discussions. There will be a plethora of interesting and impactful races. Today I want to zero in on one state that I feel has the potential to be extremely impactful on the 2020 elections very much depending on what happens in two races in 2018. Let’s explore. Something (Kinda) Nice To Say

Monday morning I awoke to the news that a deal had been struck to keep the government funded through the end of its fiscal year (September). That was a pleasant surprise since just last Friday the best Washington could do was a one week kick the can deal. My personal third choice was Sherrod Brown. That was the best chance of getting a more progressive running mate for Hillary but it was killed by the facts that Republican John Kasich is the popular Governor of Ohio and it would put Brown’s Senate seat at risk. The Endorsement Of Russ Feingold

This is probably the easiest article I will write in 2015. Thursday my wife and I were driving along when my BlackBerry buzzed with an e-mail from Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren announcing that Russ Feingold was running for the Senate in Wisconsin and that she was supporting him. As the biggest smile of the day had yet to fade from my face my only decision was what day to publish my endorsement. Continue reading The Endorsement Of Russ Feingold
