A Lesson From 9/11

The events of September 11, 2001 shook America to its core. There were several lessons learned from those tragic events and one was the expression security people came up with to involve the public: If you see something; say something. A Different Bar

A few minutes before 9pm last Tuesday night I settled in front of one of several flat screen color televisions in my new townhouse in Wake Forest, North Carolina to watch President Obama’s farewell address to the nation. My thoughts were on what I consider the benchmark Presidential farewell address which I watch some 56 years earlier as a very young boy in front of my parents’ lone black and white television in their Cheektowaga, New York home. Veep Insulation Again?

It is almost inevitable that we compare administrations including the incoming Trump administration. Trump only has 44 predecessors. To be fair, most of us don’t really know a lot about previous administrations prior to FDR’s except for a few of the real biggies like Washington and Lincoln. That being said, I want to look at a way the Trump administration is shaping up to look a lot like the George W. Bush administration and it’s not complimentary to either or good for America. A Holiday Card

If you were going to cast a production of A Christmas Carol the easiest role for me to play would be that of Ebenezer Scrooge. I’m basically a bah humbug guy.
