I Remember When American Presidents Were Leaders

I’m writing further ahead than normal. It is Monday morning and I’m already writing Thursday’s article. There were plenty of topics to choose from. When I went to bed last night this wasn’t at the top of the list. This morning I saw brief news coverage of the five living former presidents coming together for American citizens. The current occupant of the White House basically mailed it in. I feel old because I can still remember when American presidents regardless of Party we leaders. Let’s explore. My President Is A Deplorable Human Being

Polarization is a huge problem in contemporary American politics. If you use a Venn diagram to illustrate the positions of the right and left in this country one of the few places the circles would overlap is the respect for veterans, particularly those who gave their life in the line of duty. I have never worn the uniform of this country and have disagreed with almost every military action my country has taken in my lifetime. That in no way diminishes my respect for veterans. The last time I checked nobody in the military writes their own orders; they go where they are told, when they are told. That is not a situation I look forward to. Let’s explore. Continue reading The Complicity, Simplicity And Hypocrisy Of Mike Pence

An Exceptionally Bad Week For The GOP

Trump has been bad for the Republican Party (along with America and the rest of the free world). Last week was exceptionally bad. In the interest of time I will briefly touch on several of the disasters; in the process I’m certain I will neglect to even mention some. It was that bad! Let’s explore. Evil Beneath The Surface

The diversions of the Trump administration are becoming more concerning every day. The title of Matt Taibbi’s book, Insane Clown President, is more profound with each turn of the calendar’s page. What is truly dangerous is the evil being perpetrated while we watch the circus or bask in the “glory” of the lack of a major legislative achievement. Let’s explore.     Continue reading Evil Beneath The Surface
