My President Is A Deplorable Human Being

Polarization is a huge problem in contemporary American politics. If you use a Venn diagram to illustrate the positions of the right and left in this country one of the few places the circles would overlap is the respect for veterans, particularly those who gave their life in the line of duty. I have never worn the uniform of this country and have disagreed with almost every military action my country has taken in my lifetime. That in no way diminishes my respect for veterans. The last time I checked nobody in the military writes their own orders; they go where they are told, when they are told. One of the lowest things an American can do is use the military, especially a military death in the line of duty, for their self-aggrandizement. That is exactly what Donald Trump has done on multiple occasions. Let’s explore.       Continue reading My President Is A Deplorable Human Being

Evil Beneath The Surface

The diversions of the Trump administration are becoming more concerning every day. The title of Matt Taibbi’s book, Insane Clown President, is more profound with each turn of the calendar’s page. What is truly dangerous is the evil being perpetrated while we watch the circus or bask in the “glory” of the lack of a major legislative achievement. Deplorable Congressional Action

Hillary Clinton’s “basket of deplorables” line was one of her least well received of the 2016 election. I thought it was in large part accurate. I cannot think of a more appropriate word to use when describing the actions of 107 Congressional Republicans last week. I feel so strongly about this that at the risk of having a somewhat boring and cumbersome to read article I am naming each one of them herein. As Justice Louis Brandeis famously stated, “Sunshine is said to be the best of disinfectants.” Let’s explore.   Continue reading Deplorable Congressional Action

My President Must Be Removed From Office

In order to preserve the integrity of the office of the American presidency Donald Trump must be removed from office via legal means prior to the expiration of his first term. An important step in that direction took place last week and it was all but unreported. Let’s explore. Continue reading My President Must Be Removed From Office

A Deceptive Scoreboard?

If you look at the mythical political scoreboard in Washington the Republicans are in the lead and therefore appear to be winning. They control the White House, the Senate and the House of Representatives (by a wide margin). (For the sake of this “exercise” I won’t delve into the Supreme Court.) Not so fast. Let’s explore. Continue reading A Deceptive Scoreboard?
