Delay Of Game

Late Thursday Congress passed a continuing resolution (CR) to keep the federal government open through December 22. Had it not been for the CR the government would have had to shut down at midnight last Friday. Normally when Congress does something like this pundits criticize them by saying they punted. An Early Question Answered?

Early in the 2016 presidential campaign (back in 2015 to be accurate) a popular question was: Why is Donald Trump running? I subscribed to the theory that the run was a publicity stunt. I’m still not convinced that the whole thing wasn’t a publicity stunt that got out of hand. If so, the question morphs into: Why did he continue to run? I think I may have that figured out. Maybe Trump Was Telling The Truth

I have mocked the MAGA (make America great again) theme of the 2016 Trump campaign as unpatriotic and a flat out lie. America is a great nation. In my opinion it is the greatest nation in the history of the planet. Not perfect; but sum and total by far the best. I feel fortunate to have been born an American and to have lived my life here. A scary thought struck me the other day: what if Trump was telling the truth all this time and his idea of greatness was radically disconnected from reality? Let’s explore.
